Each figure is carefully handcrafted from felted Icelandic wool using traditional needle-felting techniques and made from 100% Icelandic sheep wool. The designs are inspired by Icelandic mythology and folklore, often depicting animals and characters rooted in Icelandic cultural traditions.
In Icelandic folklore, Álfar are elves believed to live in rocks and natural formations throughout the landscape. Because of these long-held traditions, construction projects in Iceland are sometimes adjusted to avoid disturbing places thought to be elf dwellings. Folklore also advises never throwing stones, as one might unknowingly harm the hidden people who live among them.
